When it Began to End

Suddenly my world turned grey
when secrets fell from numb lips
and my soul forever pays

For words whispered love astray
tragic understanding flows
suddenly my world turned grey

Dead man stands wasting away
I am now an empty husk
and my soul forever pays

For the stupid things you say
when angers dire furnace banks
suddenly my world turned grey

Blanched like bones fading to clay
lost in gasps of my own breath
and my soul forever pays

Everything had changed that day
when we let the truth be told
suddenly my world turned grey
and my soul forever pays

    • Yeah. I’m a much bigger fan of truth setting you free. Lies probably would make things worse, generally. I think that often truth cuts deepest when it’s something we sensed but didn’t want to face, something we hoped wasn’t truth, even though we likely knew better. Or it’s just a straight up blindside. That sucks too. 🙂
